At Shrewsbury Montessori School, we believe every child should have the opportunity to experience a Montessori education. Our need-based financial aid bridges the gap between a family’s demonstrated ability to pay and the cost of attendance. By expanding access, the program helps build a community where families from many backgrounds learn and thrive together. Both new and returning students in grades K through 6 are eligible to apply for financial aid.

At a Glance: Who Is Eligible and How It Works
Eligibility:
All students in Kindergarten–Grade 6, both new and returning, are eligible to apply for financial aid based on demonstrated financial need.
Primary entry points for new awards:
Most financial aid is first awarded when a student is entering Kindergarten, Grade 1, or Grade 4. These are key transition points when families often make important decisions about starting or continuing at SMS.
Aid in other grades:
While the majority of funds are directed to Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 4, financial aid may also be available in other grades (2, 3, 5, and 6) in certain circumstances. These may include an unexpected change in a family’s situation (for example, job loss) or the enrollment of another child at Shrewsbury Montessori School, which increases the family’s overall educational costs. New and returning students in these grades may be considered for aid as funds allow.
Continuing aid:
Once a student receives financial aid, it may continue in all grades (K–6) as long as the family reapplies each year, continues to demonstrate financial need.
