“The child is endowed with unknown powers which can guide us to a radiant future.”

Dear Prospective Montessori Families,

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in our school. You have discovered a Montessori school where students truly love to learn! We are pleased to introduce you to our educational philosophy and school community in hopes that our school might be a match for your child and your family.

We are very proud to have two locations- the campus in Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Montessori School, and a second campus located in Auburn, The Montessori Children’s House of Auburn. Our school is accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Association of Independent Schools of New England (AISNE). We are proud to be an example of excellent education inside the Montessori community as well as within the independent school community.

For thirty years, our school has embraced the principles and teaching methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. Based on her research, we believe that all students should be given opportunities to develop their potential as competent, responsible, and respectful citizens with an understanding and appreciation that learning is for life. Our students are given the freedom and support to be engaged in learning that addresses all aspects of growth: cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual. Our students graduate with an understanding of who they are, how to learn, and how to advocate for themselves. They become independent, critical thinkers with a deep understanding of their responsibility to the world around them.

It is a privilege and honor for me to work with and support this outstanding school. I invite you to come tour the Auburn or Shrewsbury campus. We look forward to welcoming you in person and experiencing for yourself the joy of learning that happens at Shrewsbury Montessori School.

Sincerely,
